You will wonder at times how she knew about you and a particular significant other because she seems to describe you and the relationship to a T. And, when you read the last page you will wish you had read it years and a number of relationships earlier.

I have read other books on this topic which spoke to me... This book, which I got in the Kindle version, pulled it all together for me--the biology, personal values, self identity, the human quest for belonging and intimacy. The book... brought to me great understanding. I wish I had ordered the paper version with the workbook. I ended up going back and ordering it.

7 Questions to Ask Yourself at This Time of Year

The holiday season is a great time for reflection. It is a time to look back on all your challenges and accomplishments in the past year. It is also a good time to connect and reconnect with those people you love. And, it is the time to reflect on those relationships, decisions and life choices that need reconsideration.

Here are some guiding questions to help you with the process.

  1. Do the people I love and value know how much I love and value them? If not, what can I do to make sure that happens?
  2. Am I dedicating enough time and energy to those things in my life that I value? If not, what changes can I make to create more alignment between my values/passions and time/energy spent?
  3. Are there relationships and life choices which are no longer working for me? If so, what can I do to let go of what is not working and work toward creating what will?
  4. Do I have the courage to make the changes I need to create a life filled with purpose, passion and contribution to others? If not, what resources can I draw from to help me live life more courageously?
  5. What support system to I need to create in order to make powerful choices and take action?
  6. How can I continue to grow and heal? Do I need to get help in order to do so? Remember, we can’t always do it alone.
  7. Am I committed to creating transformational relationships? If so, what do I have in place that helps keep my commitment and momentum alive?

Take the time over the holidays to reflect. Be open to what you discover. And remember, I’m here to help you create the life you choose.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a safe and happy New Year.

Julie

Quote for the Week!

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.   -An African proverb

It's not a matter of either/or. It's a matter of both/and. We must make the choice of going fast or far every day. Next time you need to choose, choose wisely.

Be well and safe travels,

Julie

Another year has passed...

Every year about this time I remind everyone to watch The Pathway to Love video. This video presents the four phases of a developing relationship in an educational and entertaining way. You get to watch a couple's relationship move through the four phases while I describe the issues, tasks and gifts inherent in each phase.  It is a journey that will make you smile, laugh and nod as you relate to all the things that couples go through as they travel from the first time they meet to creating a committed relationship based on deep intimacy and true love.

This video means a lot to me. Not only does it serve as a wonderful way to understand and experience the four phases of The Pathway to Love, it was for me, a personal labor of love. Many wonderful friends and colleagues volunteered their time, talent, and resources in the making of this video. I was incredibly blessed to have so many with so much talent stand by my side while creating a story that teaches, touches and inspires others to create strong and intimate relationships in every area of their lives.

In particular, I take this time of year to acknowledge Terrence Wing, a real life angel, who passed away on December 1, 2011. Terrence was my role model of what it means to be a friend, mentor and professional. He was instrumental in the making of this video. He was the director, editor and videographer. He brought heart and integrity to everything he did and never expected anything in return. All he wanted was for me to be successful. He was a champion to so many and continues to be missed by all who knew him.

So if you've never experienced The Pathway to Love video or have not watched it recently, I encourage you to take 10 minutes and enjoy!

And when you do, send a smile off to Terrence!

Create Transformational Relationships in 2013

The word transformation is thrown around a lot lately. I’m afraid that the word’s meaning will get watered down as it saturates to popular culture and pop media. Transformation is a powerful word and an even more powerful concept. When it moves from concept to manifestation, it is a power to be reckoned with. So today in honor of The New Year celebration, I wanted to explain what transformation means to me in the context of creating transformational relationships. My hope is that you’ll take this information and apply it to your own life and your own relationships. Everyone can have a transformational relationship. It’s really quite simple… And not. In The Pathway to Love books and programs, I describe phase four as the relational transformation phase. This is when your relationship not only provides the right conditions for healing and transforming you and your loved one but also provides the perfect conditions for the relationship itself and the greater community to transform as well. This is what it takes…
