About Judith:
Music 4 Life® Founder/CEO Judith Pinkerton is an authority on music therapy prevention and wellness accredited programs and products, including music medicine and drum circles. She empowers young and older with do-it-yourself music-based stress management education making music work like medicine to significantly reduce stress. Her coaching is available during the Music 4 Life® radio show, workshops, keynotes, and individualized sessions.
Music 4 Life® was birthed from Judith’s solo violin experience with her music replacing medication in a hospital, then evolved through a seven-year period of supervision (1996-2002) by a licensed marriage & family therapist when Judith provided music therapy programs and customized Music 4 Life® recordings for at-risk teens in a group home. Since then, Music 4 Life® offerings expanded within her music therapy practice co-treating with other health professionals, working with children and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, stress-related conditions, anger issues, depression and loss. Her Music 4 Life® programs and products empower workshop participants and clients to control their own lives.
Judith also founded and managed the Center for Creative Therapeutic Arts (CCTA), the only nonprofit music therapy agency in southern Nevada from 1990-2010. She supervised staff music therapists and interns serving medically fragile children, elderly, mentally ill, medical and disabilities. Judith also assembled teams of local, statewide, and national supporters that resulted in unprecedented grants from the Nevada State Legislature and Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (2007-2010). Her vision and commitment of over 8,000 volunteer hours was acknowledged by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce with the 2001 Community Achievement Award in Arts & Entertainment.
Judith currently serves a six-year term as President-Elect/President/Past-President for the Western Region Chapter of the American Music Therapy Association. She produced the regional conference in Las Vegas April 7-10, 2010 and co-founded the International Foundation for the Healing Arts, organized to access multi-state funding and to support the success of global nonprofit agencies focusing on the healing arts. A classically trained violinist, Judith has performed for more than three decades in symphonies from Alaska to Switzerland. From Elton John and Metallica to Natalie Cole and Tony Bennett, Judith has graced many a star-studded orchestra pit.
