You will wonder at times how she knew about you and a particular significant other because she seems to describe you and the relationship to a T. And, when you read the last page you will wish you had read it years and a number of relationships earlier.

I have read other books on this topic which spoke to me... This book, which I got in the Kindle version, pulled it all together for me--the biology, personal values, self identity, the human quest for belonging and intimacy. The book... brought to me great understanding. I wish I had ordered the paper version with the workbook. I ended up going back and ordering it.

“Creating Intimate and Loving Same Sex Relationships” Sunday June 30 1:30PM PST – LATalkLive

This week’s guests: Kristin Russo and Dannielle Owens-Reid, Founders, Everyone is Gay

Many young (and not so young) people struggle with their sexual orientation as they begin to understand who they are attracted to and who they want to love. Human sexuality and romantic attraction are complex. Love is not. Same-sex relationships experience love just like any other relationship. They go through the same four phases of development as described in The Pathway to Love. Join us as we explore the journey of discovering one's sexual orientation and how to create healthy and loving relationships, no matter who you choose to love. Whether you identify yourself as heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual, this show will illuminate your truth, support your journey, and celebrate love!

Please note: Due to Kristin and Danneille’s travel schedule, this show will be taped on Thursday June 27th and aired on Sunday June 30th. If you would like to join in the conversation, please post your questions and comments on www.facebook.com/JulieOrlov. We will not be able to take your calls LIVE during the Sunday 1:30PM PST airing for this week only!

About Kristin and Dannielle

Dannielle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Performance, and spent three years in Chicago studying improv and sketch comedy (that’s where the funny comes from). During that time she was also teaching drama to kids ages 8 – 18. Dannielle is the creator of Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber, was the runner-up to be the first ever MTVTJ (twitter jockey), ran social media for Virgin Mobile on the Lady Gaga Monster Ball Tour, and starred as Justin Bieber in Not Another Celebrity Movie. She believes herself to be a “stellar problem solver,” has the ability to see both sides of the situation #libra, and gets her dance moves from her dad.

Kristin holds a Master’s Degree in Gender Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater, but gained most of her preparation for Everyone Is Gay while lip-syncing to Wilson Phillips and TLC in the late-nineties. After moving to NYC in 2000 and running her own theater company for three years, she began volunteering at The Hetrick-Martin Institute (a service provider for LGBTQ youth and the home of the Harvey Milk High School). Inspired by the students and faculty at Hetrick-Martin, she focused her graduate studies on LGBTQ youth and curriculum, and soon thereafter founded Everyone Is Gay. She has a cat named Trey, a penchant for crossword puzzles, and a deep-seated appreciation for Italian Ice.

“Don’t Let Your Past Predict Your Future” Sunday June 9 1:30PM PST – LATalkLive

This week’s guest: Lolita Coppage, Singer, Writer, Instrumentalist

Everyone has a past—a collection of experiences that help form who you are today. Some of those experiences have been life affirming and some have been debilitating and wounding. Some of you have overcome tragedy, abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Everyone has their own personal version of one or more of the above struggles. Many people fear their past will always color their future. I’m here to tell you that this is not the case. Join me and my guest Lolita Coppage as we explore how you can overcome your past so that your future is yours and yours alone. Your past does not have to predict your future. Learn how to transform challenges and tragedies into triumphs and celebrations. This show just might change your life!

About Lolita: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”  (Proverbs 31:8-9)

For LOLITA R. COPPAGE, Proverbs 31 is not just a beautiful passage of scripture – it is a call to action given to her by the Lord ten years ago.  Like the phoenix of mythology, Lolita has risen through the ashes of a painful and hard life with a determination to help others in similar situations.  As an author, motivational speaker and musician, Lolita's message of hope springs not just from her knowledge of the scriptures, but from a heart that has overcome obstacle after obstacle thrown her way, through her faith in Jesus Christ.

Lolita has always loved music.  After moving to California from Chicago, she began training as a vocalist at age 12, and studied voice, musical comedy and early Italian opera over the course of the next 13 years.  She performed with the New Christy Minstrels and toured with Jose Feliciano, Debby and Pat Boone and Kathy Lee Gifford.  In addition, she has sung back-up for James Ingram, and was part of the choir that sang back-up for Peabo Bryson, Stephanie Mills and Deniece Williams during a Christmas performance at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center.  Lolita considers Karen Carpenter, Diana Ross and Dionne Warwick as her influences and musical inspiration.

In 2006, Lolita wrote her biography, “Shaped by the Master's Hand,” which chronicles her struggles and successes, and has led to a new ministry for victims of abuse.  With the release of her second album, “Changes,” she now has additional means to share her faith and her heart with a world in desperate need of relief.

Lolita describes her music as “passionate, while laid back, with a good groove – R&B pop, yet easy listening.”  Her songs run the gamut of emotions, from an updated cover of the classic hymn, “On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand,” an anthem of faith in an unfaithful and stressful world, to original songs “I Know That you Care” and “Serving This World.”  The latter is a song of repentance, describing her journey through a painful marriage and her redemption on the other side.

Lolita loves sharing her story with those who are in pain.  “When I wrote “Serving This World,” I envisioned myself as a daughter late one night, in despair going into my father's room to talk to him because my life was a mess from not obeying him.  I also pictured God as that Father, and I came out of that room with a renewed faith and vision of where He wanted me to be.”  That insight makes it easier for Lolita to connect with her audience.  “I know how He has made me feel, how He's forgiven me and redeemed me and I can share that with them.”

Lolita currently sings with Jay Sterling productions based in New Port Beach California from Southern California to Nashville Tennessee, but her heart’s desire is full time ministry. She's very active as a speaker and singer with Celebrate Recovery groups in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Fullerton, Santa Monica, Chino, Claremont and the inland Empire. She's been a guest speaker and singer with Woman's Aglow ministry.  Not long ago, she was featured on a TBN broadcast called Damascus Road, and she sang and shared her testimony on KBrite radio with Gene and Evie. Her message is spreading the good news of the gospel, and encourages others that God heals pain from abuse in many ways.
