You will wonder at times how she knew about you and a particular significant other because she seems to describe you and the relationship to a T. And, when you read the last page you will wish you had read it years and a number of relationships earlier.

I have read other books on this topic which spoke to me... This book, which I got in the Kindle version, pulled it all together for me--the biology, personal values, self identity, the human quest for belonging and intimacy. The book... brought to me great understanding. I wish I had ordered the paper version with the workbook. I ended up going back and ordering it.

Bring Your A-Game to Valentine's Day

Usually, I'm a bit of a scrooge when it comes to V-day. I reject the commercialism and pressure that this holiday puts on couples and singles alike. I encourage people to simply enjoy a day that celebrates love without caving in to the pressures to buy expensive flowers or go to expensive restaurants. For some reason, this year I feel differently.  I believe that true romance is quickly becoming a lost art. People now rely on texting and Facebook over true courtship and romance. I believe that romance needs a comeback and if Valentine's Day is my opportunity to bring some romance back in vogue, then I say YES!

So for all you couples out there, make this Valentine's Day count. Practice romance. Go all out. Be corny, creative, kinky, whatever—just be romantic! Let's see who can come up with the most romantic idea for Valentine’s Day. I promise, with the right attitude, it will be fun.

Click on Read in Browser to leave your plan for romance on the blog. Let's help each other out and come up with ideas that are sure to make cupid proud.

Time is of the Essence

Time is always on our minds. Our day is run by it; our lives are measured by it. It is no different when it comes to relationships. We hope things will change with time, heal with time, and grow with time.

Since so much of our experience here on earth is based around our concept of time, here's what I want you to know about relationships as it pertains to time.

  1. There is no substitute for time. Time is an important aspect of relationships.
  2. It takes time to get to know someone. Plain and simple.
  3. It takes time to figure out what traits and behaviors you can accept in a mate and which ones you cannot.  Acceptance is a process as well as a choice/decision.
  4. It takes time to feel safe revealing your less than desirable traits with a significant other.
  5. In time, all your secrets will be revealed.
  6. Over time, you will discover something new about yourself and your partner. People are always evolving over time so there is always something new to learn.
  7. Healthy relationships continue to deepen and mature as time goes by.
  8. Time is deceiving--sometimes time flies by and sometimes time stands still. Make every minute count.
  9. You never know how much more time you will have--to love someone, to spend time with someone, to enjoy life to the fullest. Be grateful for the time you have to do so.
  10. Make sure you take the time everyday to let people know how much you love, appreciate and celebrate them.

So go out and make the most if it, time that is.
