I have read other books on this topic which spoke to me... This book, which I got in the Kindle version, pulled it all together for me--the biology, personal values, self identity, the human quest for belonging and intimacy. The book... brought to me great understanding. I wish I had ordered the paper version with the workbook. I ended up going back and ordering it.

Never assume people can read your mind

The saying “never make any assumptions” works both ways. It is just as important to ask someone to clarify their messages as it is for you to give clear messages and test understanding. A lot of people make the mistake of “assuming” that their friend, parent, spouse, boss, boyfriend, etc. should know what they need from them. To you, this may simply be a matter of common sense.
