You will wonder at times how she knew about you and a particular significant other because she seems to describe you and the relationship to a T. And, when you read the last page you will wish you had read it years and a number of relationships earlier.

I have read other books on this topic which spoke to me... This book, which I got in the Kindle version, pulled it all together for me--the biology, personal values, self identity, the human quest for belonging and intimacy. The book... brought to me great understanding. I wish I had ordered the paper version with the workbook. I ended up going back and ordering it.

About Julie Orlov

I love helping individuals develop lasting relationships that truly transform their lives. For over 24 years, I've worked as a psychotherapist, executive coach, trainer, speaker, and consultant, helping people create powerful and fulfilling lives. I've seen firsthand what happens when people move from a relationship that feels lonely, disconnected, or filled with conflict and transform it into an intimate, lasting bond. The truth is, it doesn't just change our home life, it changes the way we interact at work, when we are on the road, or out with our friends. A relationship in crisis impacts every area of our lives.

I started my career in clinical social work, treating individuals, couples, and families in private practice, guiding them to learn the importance of understanding and acceptance. I teach people that “understanding and accepting who we are today, empowers us to transform and create the life we choose.” In 1993, I created the “Parenting Helpline” that served families in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, California. I have also served on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court, providing mediation services.

As my career progressed, I began to work with leaders and teams so that relationships could thrive in organizations and businesses alike. As a consultant and trainer, I strongly believe in helping leaders develop the capabilities to make a positive difference in the lives of those they lead. My focus has always been on helping people thrive within the context of human relationships.

While my life's work has taken many paths, I am passionate about empowering others to create relationships that work. I hold a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University, a master’s degree in social work from University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of California, Los Angeles. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the American Society of Training and Development, Los Angeles, where I served as the 2010 president on the board of directors. I have also served as foundation chair for KindredSPIRITS, a humanitarian organization located in San Pedro, California.
